F-Scape Road Trip

F-Scapes Route

The best way to experience Canada’s Western Mountain Region is a road trip through the stunning mountain vistas. Your drive through the Canadian Rockies will include sparkling emerald lakes, charming towns, and lots of wildlife viewing. Included are some suggestions that you can use to help outline your rocky mountain road trip.

Day one Edmonton to Jasper

Three and a half hours due west of Edmonton is Jasper National Park and The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Along the way keep you eyes peeled for wildlife and the Rocky Mountains emerging in the distance. After checking into The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge relax and enjoy your private horse-drawn carriage ride around Lac Beauvert.

Day two Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

After a hearty breakfast set out for a must do adventure in Jasper, the Edith Cavell hike. Head out on your own or with a guide as you experience three kinds of glacier formations. From icebergs, to ice avalanches, ice caves, waterfalls and finally the emerald green of the Lake of Forgiveness. For great wildlife viewing opportunities take a white water raft or guided fishing trip on the Athabasca River. In the evening, board your private voyageur canoe, the ultimate Lac Beauvert experience. Your destination - private dinner for two on the lakeside sundeck.

Day three Jasper to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Get an early start as you embark on one of the worlds most spectacular drives three and a half hours down the Icefields Parkway. Along the way keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. Be sure to allow time to stop at the incredible Columbia Icefields, here you can board a giant Ice Explorer and venture onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier, an experience not to be missed! Arrive at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and settle into your room overlooking the breathtaking Lake Louise. Have a memorable fondue dinner in the Walliser Stube or a four diamond experience in the Fairview Dining Room.

Day four Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Start the morning with a health conscious breakfast in Poppy Brasserie. After breakfast meet your personal Mountain Heritage Guide for your half day, full day hike or mountain bike trip. Our guides are some of the most knowledgeable, interesting and fun people to go hiking with. Hear historical facts about the area, stories about local wildlife and tips on hiking techniques. During your hike you will stop at the Lake Agnes Tea House or Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House. Here you can enjoy freshly made baked goods, sandwiches and soups. Once back at the hotel, if you are still up for more fun, book a North Canoe Guided Adventure on Lake Louise.

Day five Lake Louise to  Fairmont Banff Springs

Before checking out be sure to get your photo in front of world famous Lake Louise. This is Canada's most photographed spot... you're certain understand why.

Drive forty-five minutes east to Fairmont Banff Springs. Along the way, be sure to drive the 1A highway route, The Bow Valley Parkway. While slower than the main highway, this drive is great for wildlife spotting and after all on this trip the journey is as special as the destination.. After checking into Fairmont Banff Springs' exclusive Gold Floor visit the concierge to confirm your Via Ferrata adventure  for the next day. In the afternoon, head up the Sulphur Mountain Gondola for the spectacular views and photo opportunities. Afterwards instead of taking the gondola, hike down the trail to the Banff Hot Springs for a rewarding soak. Enjoy a hearty dinner in The Waldhaus or 1888 Chop House featuring locally inspired cuisine like elk, bison and Alberta beef.

Day six Fairmont Banff Springs

Experience Banff's newest activity as you're lead by a certified guide up the Via Ferrata (Iron Road) at Mount Norquay.  This guided tour requires no climbing experience and follows a system of fixed anchors, cables, ladders and bridges for two hours. After a day of exploration and adventure return the hotel and the Willow Stream spa for some well-earned rest and relaxation. After a 60 minute massage, laze in the mineral pools.

Day seven Banff to Calgary

On your final day, enjoy your complimentary breakfast in the Gold Lounge before departing for your final drive through to Calgary, where you can stay at our sister Property - The Palliser or head directly to Calgary International Airport for the conclusion of your Rocky Mountain Adventure.
